    The guys over at Rivers End Tackle said that there are still schoolies around the mouth of the river, but not many fish north of 25 inches. Blackfish reports have been solid when people can get out, but the fish are definitely heading deeper now. There has been a resurgence in the sea bass bite this week too, with some nice fish mixing with blackfish on some of the stickier ledges.

    Joe over at Rivers End Tackle said there have been lots of small bass inside the mouth of the river and along the adjacent shores. There haven’t been many people out fishing for them, but the fish are there. Some bigger fish have been taking eels at Long Sand Shoal as well. The tributaries on the lower river have hickory shad right now also. Blackfishing is still very good, but shorts have been an issue locally, the guys that move around are finding the better fish and slower stages of the tide have been better this week. There are still some bonito around as well.

    The guys over at Rivers End Tackle said the striper bite has been all schoolies again this week. Blackfishing has been the big thing. Results have been good on most reefs between 20 and 40 feet. Small blues have been showing up in the mouth of the river. Sea bass action seems to be slowing way down.

    The guys over at Rivers End Tackle said there’s plenty of school bass around the mouth of the river; anything over 30 inches has been rare. Blackfish catches have been picking up with good numbers of shorts and keepers to make things fun and interesting. There haven’t been any giants weighed-in yet, but the shop is well-stocked with crabs and all the tackle you’ll need to catch one. There have been reports of bonito off Niantic and some albies in the Gut.
